U15 Girls Rugby Info
Rugby at the U15 level is full contact, with tackling, scrums, rucking and more. Many of us at Crusaders believe RUGBY is the best team sport in the world, especially for girls, because there is a position for every player regardless of whether she is tall, short, big or small; the sport promotes teamwork and camaraderie, courage and trust. And it’s lots of fun!
When you ask girls what the best part of rugby is, many will say it’s the tackling! We coach the girls not just how to tackle, but how to take a tackle. Safety is paramount on the field.
We have lots of opportunities for our junior members to pitch in for fun or for volunteer hours. We have some junior players coaching our Minis, we have some as referees, others who help bbq and run special events. One of our U15s last year earned 77 volunteer hours over one summer! She has long met her high school volunteer hour requirements but she continues to volunteer! That says a lot about our program and Crusaders.
The U15 girls train Mondays and Wednesdays 6 – 7:30pm with games every other Sunday. Cost is $250. For siblings, there are teams for all kids from age 6 up. Registration forms can be found on the tab above.

We are having a “come out and try it” day Wednesday, June 13 from 6 – 7:30pm for girls who know a little about rugby and want to try it out first. You’ll actually be on the field participating with coaches and players so you’ll get a first-hand look at what rugby is about. No knowledge of rugby or experience is necessary; many of our U15s are new to the sport and playing rugby for the first time. Cost is $5, a free tee shirt is included and there is a BBQ and Q&A session afterwards. Wear shorts and a tee shirt, cleats or running shoes and bring water and a mouthguard if you have one. There will be someone in the parking lot directing you where to go. This session is RAIN OR SHINE. If you have any questions about the session, please contact the Director, Junior Development, Celeste Corless at juniors@oakvillecrusaders.com
Crusaders prides itself on being a non-profit, fully volunteer-run club. We are probably the biggest Rugby Club in North America but we have a small club attitude. We are a community. We offer rugby at every level for every age, many of our former competitive players still play touch rugby on Tuesday nights, Saturday mornings we run touch rugby for parents, many of whom are new to rugby. We welcome new members.
Crusaders is the place to be. Be part of the place!
