Crusaders Pick Duo from within for Senior Women’s Program
Along with the promotion into the Ontario Women’s League (OWL) for 2010, the Crusaders Rugby Club is pleased to be able to announce the signing of Jim Delaney and David Nelson as the new coaching team for the Crusaders Senior Women’s sides in 2010. This duo have worked together successfully for many years and the club anticipates nothing less in this step into the Women’s program.
Delaney brings a wealth of experience to the side. Having been Director of Rugby at the club for many seasons, Jim has been Head Coach of the Senior Men, U18 and U20 programs in Oakville as well as having been a guest coach with the Women’s program in 2009. Currently Jim is the Head Coach of the Canada’s National U17 men’s side and has been involved in that setup for a number of years. He will bring a professional approach and exciting difference to the Women’s program.
Nelson has also been involved at Crusaders for years, having coached at the Senior Men’s and U20 level as well as being a guest coach with the Women in 2009 with Jim. His main responsibility will be the forwards play.
Both are excited about the opportunity and are looking forward to helping the Crusaders to a successful debut season in the top women’s league in the province.
The Crusaders Rugby Club is located in Oakville and runs 2 Senior Women’s teams, 4 Senior Men’s, U15 and U18 Girls, U14, U16, U18 and U20 boys plus U8, U10 and U12 in the minis program (
